With the thread of the other linux test getting a little bit long, I am creating a new thread to announce another linux beta test that will be starting today 6/24/2010. These work units will have a 12 hour time limit. We will be testing the upload server for the large result file as well as a few more changes to the application to help with the error rate.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Here's one I haven't seen
6/24/2010 7:51:35 AM World Community Grid Message from server: Beta - The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 requires 128.00 kbps download bandwidth. Your computer has been measured at 97.45 kbps. First question to anyone is how to have boinc "retest" itself. It must have gotten this lowly number while other systems were downloading. I've tried update, network communication, restarting the manager, changing prefs, even just restarted the system, but it's holding to that number. Second, this is on a XP64 machine and I thought this beta was still linux only? |

sounds like there's something wrong with the platform designation. XP machines getting tasks but not Linux machines.

They must be all gone... or the only ones left are for McAppStore machines.
My linux boxes are telling me:
So I switched one of my XP boxes over and it says:
Still, only 1 of them came up short, downloading the 100MB starter file then not getting any for the other 3 cores in a zip file. |

They are not progressing evenly at all.
----------------------------------------Even though I selected, then suspended, all other tasks so that all 4 would start at the same time, on one of my quads the WUs are showing elapsed - progress 1:40:00 - 17.9% 2:59:50 - 17% 3:09:00 - 10.5% 1:32:12 - 10% Similarly, on a dual core they're showing 2:52:00 - 24% 1:41:00 - 13.2% even though both started at the same moment. edit1: Had to climb some stairs to get to this dual-core, but its elapsed for both WUs is identical down to the second (3:20:00), and the progress matches within 0.4% (~24%)... one is a C11 and the other is a C12.
