Messsage received
We have cleared it again. We will add some intelligence to these scripts so that short conditions like this do not cause a disruption. We have not yet had the time to do it. thanks, knreed rgds JP |

Just to fill folks in a bit on what is going on.
About 2 weeks ago we experienced an issue where we got a number of connection requests that opened but then stopped sending any data. This actually caused our servers to fail and require someone to go onsite to the data center and physically power off and power on the machines. As result, we implemented some scripts to protect the servers from failure when a similar condition is detected - in this case we are checking to see how many instances of the file_upload script are running at the sametime. However, it appears that their are some transient issues that will cause short terms spikes in the number of upload instances. This results in our scripts automatically disabling uploads to protect the servers. This is what you are seeing. We need to add some intelligence into the scripts so that it periodically will re-enable downloads so that we can see if the issue has resolved itself on its own. At any rate, we have re-enabled downloads at this time. |

----------------------------------------This is what you are seeing. We need to add some intelligence into the scripts so that it periodically will re-enable downloads so that we can see if the issue has resolved itself on its own. Kevin, if I understand the problem and what you are doing correctly I presume it should be uploads and not downloads in these two sentences, no?At any rate, we have re-enabled downloads at this time. @P . P . L . Edit// Other projects are affected to not just faah. I don't think that the upload procedures are project specific. If uploading does not work, it affects all projects the same. knreed will certainly correct me if this assumption is wrong. |

An FAQ penned this morning for the patient and the not so patient: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,29204
----------------------------------------I've left it in a least maintenance required state since various client are bound to behave differently, past, present, and future versions and deeper detail is only of interest to the code breakers. ![]()

That's no 'problem' - it's a regular maintenance task, which clears itself with no issues (check out the FAQ's)
