Same problem here.
Cannot only upload. I upload about 0,14 Kb by Bionc indicator and than it stops. I think that techs have remote access. But somebody should allert them. Who has phone uplinger`s or knreed`s phone number :-) |

This is why I carry a 3 day cache of work.

Same problem here. Cannot only upload. I upload about 0,14 Kb by Bionc indicator and than it stops. With some tasks the upload reaches almost 100 %, but then it stops; others even don't start to upload. Had the same problem already last weekend - waited some hours, then tried again and it worked. But I didn't expect to see this issue again this weekend... Maybe also my computers should stop during the weekends?! ;-) |

When servers are sending project backoff messages the client does not try to contact them at all for the indicated delay. Look at your message log: for the latest completed jobs the upload has not even been tried. We just have to wait.  The server can only send backoff-messages for Scheduling-requests, not for uploads. The upload-server won't send any backoff-messages, since client has no way to handle this. Instead, any failing uploads will use clients normal random backoff, and with v6.10.xx-clients you've also have project-wide backoff on uploads (or downloads) in case of errors. This is so a single computer with many waiting uploads won't be permanently connected trying to upload various files. As for why some users can't download work, this is due to too many uploads. If there's more than 2x #cpu's uploads to a BOINC-project, work-request to this BOINC-project is blocked. It doesn't matter if the uploads is currently being transferred or queued to be transferred or backing-off, the check is only for #uploads. This was originally intended to guard against computers that crunches wu's faster than manages to upload them, something that would lead to all work being returned after deadline if allowed to continue downloading work. As a bonus, this also handles problems there upload-server is overloaded or for other reasons isn't working, since newly-downloaded work can fairly quickly be ready to upload and give extra server-load, something you definitely don't want if server has problem handling current load... But anyway, due to WCG for some wu's has multiple upload-files, you can fairly quicly hit the limit of 2x #cpu's... Changing cache-size, hitting "update" and so on won't have any effect, since any work-reqeust to BOINC-project is blocked if more than 2x #uploads to this project. So, if you don't run any other BOINC-projects, chances are you will run-out of work.  "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |

had the problem for over 24hrs.
----------------------------------------still got 5 HCC jobs waiting. I expect to have another 10 by tomorrow. can't wait for the transfer retry of 3hrs. My desktop pc (win2000pro & 6.2.28), that is always connected doesn't have a problem, only my laptop that is connected every so often during the day. internet access on the laptop (windows7 & 6.2.28) is fine.
