I'm receiving an intermittent sign-on dialog to connect to seti-germany.de when I'm looking at threads in the DDDT2 Category. It is happening when I click on the tread title and when changing pages within the thread. The dialog is:
----------------------------------------Connect to seti-germany.de The server seti-germany.de at SETI.Germany requires a username and password. Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection). If I cancal the dialog the posts are displayed. I'm using IE8. This just started a few minutes ago for me and happens around 40% of the time. I haven't seen it on any of the other Categories. Anyone else seeing this? Edit: Marked as Stopped Bill P

Can you please give us a specific thread you have seen this in. A link perhaps? It is probably a signature for a member that is causing the issue.

The sequence I first had it happen was:
---------------------------------------->World Community Grid Forums >Active Research >Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 Forum Thread: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah! and select Last Post (https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...748_lastpage,yes#lastpost) Then Click Page 9 (https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...d_thread,28748_offset,400) I would get the login dialog. Sometime I would get it by just clicking on the thread link in the DDDT Forum: (https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listthreads?forum=460). Sometimes it was by selecting Jump to Last Post, and sometimes by clicking any page from the Thread heading. It wasn't happening with a specific member, just in attempting to navigate the DDDT2 forum links, and only DDDT2. As I wrote, it was intermitment and in putting this together is has stopped. Really strange??. After posting this I tried it with all the posts/pages in the thread and I can't duplicate it. Must have been something on my end. I'll mark this as [Stopped]. Chances are, the site that is hosting the logo for totto had some issue with their images. They are the only items on page 9 linking to seti-germany.de. I did not see an issue on my side when trying to recreate your steps.

When we moved our hosting solution for 'www.setigermany.de' to a different provider, we became victim of a domain grabber.
Presently we use 'www.seti-germany.de' as an interim solution instead of 'www.setigermany.de'. Thousends of links in the BOINC world are presently broken since we have owned this domain for more than 10 years. We are taking all required legal action to get our domain back. Sorry for any inconvenience with regard to our interim domain. We are working hard to get things solved on our side. Best regards roundup of Seti.Germany |
