So ahh Jack, that old P4 in your closet.. Does it work? Nope, I tried to put DDR3 in a DDR2 motherboard, blew it up. BUT I did get a 1.6 ghz tiny emachine single core joke with 32bit VISTA (BLEH), on it running. so 14 cores now. don't even know if it will get one unit done before stats update lol. Anyways GL ![]() |

Well it is done. A long week for all. My thanks to all that came to help and it was a pleasure to meet you folks in person. I think we'll try this again..In November when it's cooler for some. Thanks again, Dave My last ditch effort yesterday was inhumane for my little planets. Jupiter went from 8 threads to 12 threads. Clocks were all pushed a little with all CPU thermal securities off. RAM settings were pushed also a little. I hoped to pass the 600'000 point limit and nearly did it with 599'501. This is my highest score ever. It was a nice week full of records. It was an honour to crunch with this team. Congratulations to all . We fought with gallantry this challenge, but we must recognize the dedication and crunching power of our Japanese competitors. Until the next match, Sayonara to them and for all of us KAMPAI!It is time for me to leave now. My solar system is drifting slowly in space out of XTremeSystems gravitational field. See you! ![]() |

I'm going to hang around for a few weeks more - I like leaving after contributing a year (makes for nice round numbers lol). Then I'll go back and finish up the time to the other teams.
----------------------------------------And I'll echo Hypernova's comment - it was an honor to contribute what I could to this effort. And I seriously want to see the next time - I want to see the match up between Dak & Hypernova then ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 9, 2010 11:42:23 AM] |

Now even though we didn't make the number's I'd have liked to see all in all this was a win-win. The win was in the new people that came to this work because of the email and found they enjoyed doing DC work. That's long term help and at least to me more important than one weeks numbers. Again my thanks to all that helped. Means a lot to me.. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Movieman at May 10, 2010 12:10:07 AM] |
