Problems using the forums

I am having some trouble using the forums. There are delays, pages missing and posts not appearing here and there.
Anyone other has some troubles?

The search indexes weren't matching the database. I've gone ahead and had them rebuilt. Let me know if you experience any more trouble.

knreed,
While you're at it, can you check on the results status database? It's taking much longer than usual to do a filtered lookup.

Re: Problems using the forums

I suspect that may be an issue not easily addressed. With Rice finishing up and Help Conquer Cancer running much quicker, there is a lot more data in the database. This will cause queries to slow down. There is a big improvement we can do for performance but it requires a long outage (probably 8 hours) so we have been putting it off until we need the performance gain.

For those curious, we are currently running on MySQL 5.0. I'd like to move us up to MySQL 5.1 and take advantage of table partitioning. The other solution would be just to install more RAM on the servers.

[ot]The word heil is laden here in Europe. Try "tartaros" instead, out loud. ;>)[/ot]
