Re: New beta for type C

If two people really got 25% of your Beta it's time to change your distribution method.

Yes, that seems likely to exhaustively test a very small subset of the available machine types.

Meanwhile, I got 1.

... Oh, and a log entry which says:
"20-Mar-2010 09:30:14 [World Community Grid] Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 99.9% of time, BOINC on 100.0% of that"
Given how untrue the part about not finishing in time is, possibly someone's over-compensated after the A's?

Re: New beta for type C

I'm guessing that it's more about the WU programming code than the hardware on which the WUs run.

Re: New beta for type C

Except for four WUs that were "server aborted", all have been finished and submitted now...

Got 17 rigs crunching WCG, using 3 different OSs and 12 different CPU-types...

Thanks for the info, UL1.

Re: New beta for type C

Just curious - got BETA_ erlc_a109_sr78a1_0 and delivered it after both other WUs validated. But the first one became valid with CPU time 0.00 and result log
start_timer_thread(): CreateThread() failed, errno 0
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.
called boinc_finish

So how can a WU become valid after 0.0 hours? It seems to have been restarted after an error.
Is there a problem with the validator? Or just wrong result entries?

Re: New beta for type C

all of mine have been validated except for 3 which remain in pv. Guess they must be on some really slow pc's since I completed them in 1 hour on 2 and 45 minutes on 1.

w7 64bit intel 9550 quad 3.0 boinc 6.10.43

Re: New beta for type C

No problems with any WUs. Completed on 2xOS and 7xCPU combos. Looks like a winner! Bring on the 'A' type....smile

Re: New beta for type C

Interesting with these 2 quick / short B and C type tests, there were quite a bit more validated than quorum 2.

150 B type at quorum 2, 300 needed
708 C type at quorum 2, 1516 needed
Total 1,816

Init distribution was 3 (2,574), then validated since the start: 2,200 exact. Only 44 validated on Sunday, suggesting this test is pretty well done.

We might be seeing some production work in a little... stay tuned :D
