There was no speed boost due to the binary other than decreasing IO. But this should not have caused a significant decrease. What you probably noticed was a type C beta work unit go through the loop. But yes, we always like the beta's back quickly so we can move onto the next step :) BUT we really prefer proper tests...which is why we ask members who are willing to test check pointing as that is a major feature of grid applications that need to be tested.
