I would like to run BOINC/WCG on a Win7 64-bit PC that has a fairly good processor (E6300), but which runs only about 1 or 2 hours a day at most. That does not appear to be enough time to complete a lot of tasks, and I don't want them to miss their deadlines.
Can I instruct BOINC to prevent the PC from going into Sleep mode until the task completes (and not start any more tasks until it wakes up next)? |

Hi,
----------------------------------------You cannot, but you can tell BOINC a from-to time frame, so when your computer is on it will compute X hours then suspends allowing your computer to go to sleep. Also, you can flip flop the work fetch in the projects tab of BOINC manager, so when you have a task, set it off. Then when your task finishes before the end of the from-to period, BOINC pauses too and your computer will be going to sleep early.
WCG

OK, that seems a workable solution. But I don't think my wife is interested in setting off new tasks, so I will have to leave that part out. '
