Re: What does your nickname mean here at WCG

It is the short version of "House of Fur and Feathers", of which I am the unwitting head. One Akita mix dog, one white shorthaired cat, and two parrots, all "previously loved" are the rest of the residents. In the spring the house requires a daily sweeping or it becomes " the house of fur and feathers ". I am simply out-numbered.

Re: What does your nickname mean here at WCG

I just changed my nickname, so I'm using this thread to tell those who know me. Besides, since this will be my first post under my new name, this seems the appropriate place to start. Thanks JP!

I used to be gb077492. You will have noticed other nicknames of this format. The company I used to work for encouraged us to sign up using userids of this layout when WCG got started: I've been here since Day One. But, now that the last machine that I was able to install WCG on before I left has been re-assigned, I thought it was time to pick a new nickname. Besides, I'm not going to kick up WUs at the rate I used to and I think it will be a while until I need to buy a new box for the home office.

My new moniker combines a number of my interests to a greater or lesser extent. I will try to explain it by posting a number of definitions:

Apis: A bee.

API: Application Programming Interface.

Tintinnabulate: To make a tinkling sound, like the chime of bells.

Ambulator: A walker.

I'm sorry it's so long, but I can't think of anything shorter that sums me up so well.
