codes = I like figuring out computing problems, why something fails and how to fix it, or how to do something better.
But, this sounds sexier "COherent Digital Exciters" |

I am a geophysicist. While in grad school I went on an aftershock study. The motel had the reservation as the Department of Geopsychic Sciences. I figured someone had a better idea of how the department ran than we wanted generally known. I have been using it ever since.

Krakatuk is a nut from the Hoffmann's "The Nutcracker and The Mouse King" story, which "had so hard a shell that a field howitzer could ride over it without cracking it".
---------------------------------------- Funnily enough, one of my best friends always used this word while swearing (e.g. "You f... krakatuk!!" ) when I met him about 13 years ago.Since then we call each other "Krakatuk" and I really like this funny name. ![]() ![]() |

"JollyJimmy", as you might have guessed, does not really "mean" something like "deltavee", to take a random example from the post prior to this one.
----------------------------------------But it means something to me: "Jimmy" was my highschool nickname. Back then was the time when the arcade games started to record high scores (think "Defender", one of my favorites), and some of them allowed you to enter more than just three letter initials. So having the ability to record a name of, say, 10 letters or so, was a cool feature for the time, and so I wanted to make use of it. That's when I started to mark my high scores with "JollyJimmy". |
