rbotterb, you could certainly make a start on your Sapphire badge for FAAH (that is, once you've reached your Emerald badge), as, by the sounds of it, FAAH will be around for a very long time to come.

Yep, gb009761, it is true that with all the new experiments added to the FAAH line up, SekeRob is showing FAAH with 1800+ days to go, so obviously that Sapphire badge is doable in the next year or so even if I crunch a number other projects at the same time. CEP2 will always be a limited crunch for me due to the long run times and check point requirements - I'm shooting for Gold for it, but I doubt it will be around long enough for a run for Ruby - so Gold will probably be as good as I can go far which is still pretty good for a small team cruncher as I am. If there isn't any new projects for another couple months, I'll probably just keep crunching FAAH past Emerald and get a good start at Sapphire while waiting for the new stuff.
I also opened my laptop up to Beta work, but so far nothing has come through, but I know that is basically a special hit and miss situation as new stuff pops up from time to time.... |

Well... I reached ruby for SN2S, so now I'm switching back over to FAAH to finish going after the emerald (only need 90 days). After that is accomplished, I'll switch again back to SN2S and go after the emerald. Probably between all this switching, the new cancer project will make it's entrance... so many decisions to make, so little time to do it

I finally got emerald for FAAH (YOOHOO !!!
---------------------------------------- ) and wanted to switch over to SN2S to chase after the emerald there, but SN2S has run out of WUs to crunch. So... I'll just have to keep crunching FAAH until SN2S becomes available again. CJSL Crunching for a better world... |

No reason to fear going after multi-year patches! I got my Emerald Patch for FAAH after many years of crunching on my laptop (actually my family has 2 others now on the same team). Looking for getting to Sapphire sometime in 2014. I would image both SN2S and the new Cancer Project everyone is waiting for this Fall will give us more variety in time.
In the meantime, crunching for FAAH is a very good cause. Stamping out Aids (or at least helping come up with better treatments) is something that will improve the world for all of us. |

And why not reaching Saphir for FAAH Good luck alged... That is also one of my goals, but one in the far future. I don't have the computing power to do such a feat any time soon. I feel that all projects at WCG are important for the future of humanity... so basically, whatever project you pick (for what ever reason you choose), it's the right choice: you can't go wrong. If you decide to crunch only one project, that is great. If you decide to crunch all projects, that is great. If you can return one crunched WU per day, that is great. If you can return 1000 crunched WUs per day, that is great. And to top it off, it's fun and you can make from friends (from all over the world) too. CJSL Gotta keep crunching... there's a world to save !!! |

totally agree, i join the pack on FAAH and (as one says above) "expecting more variety in time" and to stick to my team
----------------------------------------in fact my only fear is people leaving WCG because that lack of projects but that is discuted in another thread Anyway they cud find many others programs to crunch for science... Keep on crunching ![]() |

Well... still plugging away at FAAH... trying to make it to sapphire (still need to crunch 136 days). Also, very slowly, I'm crunching CEP2 and finally made it to bronze (woohoo!!!). It seems that something is coming up the pike because the Beta forum has gone bananas, so hopefully we will have something new to play with soon
