Re: Building the 400 Teraflop Machine... a Work In [Permanent] Progress

Deselected for now. It's really not that much data though. I have my nodes throttled on upload and download bandwidth and I suspect they may be timing out because they are going too slow or something.

It probably is. They have the stale timeout at about 15 seconds or so. I think the way that libCurl handles bandwidth is to send a chunk of data and then wait until enough time passes before sending the next chunk. If you setting is too low then it could be timeout due to this.

Building hard on consolidating Thé Machine powwah, we hit 425 TFL 7 day average and the 21 Day slider stands at 420 TFL. Looking to be a strong Tuesday

Crunching steady as we go!

Better not have a bolt of lightning strike the wrench of knreed while he's knobbing the server park for more scalability... Whatever he's doing, it's hard not to set an all time week record today ... Per the projections:

~ 2240 CPU years donated this week ending Friday!
~ 429 TFLs as 7 days average
~ 423 TFLs as 21 days average
~ 394 TFLs as 60 day average (soon to pass that nearly nearly 400 TFL reached on June 17... 399.1 it was)

Almost 425 TFLs, so we're not far off from:

"Building the Half A PetaFlops Machine... a Work In [Permanent] Progress"

Carunching On.

~ 2258 CPU years donated this week ending Sunday!
~ 432 TFLs as 7 days average
~ 426 TFLs as 21 days average
~ 395 TFLs as 60 day average (soon to pass that nearly nearly 400 TFL reached on June 17... 399.1 it was)

Value updated per Sunday Noon! The Machine is really heating up

SpaceBalls...

... at Ridiculous Speed... the summer was/is long, but now we're sputniking back up... 7 days running looking to sum to around 2280 CPU years

Don't push, there's enough for everyone (but hopefully not for ever ;-)

Re: Building the 400 Teraflop Machine... a Work In [Permanent] Progress

I have three more units planned on the way to come and help push the peak TFLOP even higher:
In chronological order EUROPA, CHARON, SEDNA. All will be equipped with my recycled i7 950's.
They will arrive according the falling external temps profile. EUROPA should be orbiting in two weeks time max. smile

Re: Building the 400 Teraflop Machine... a Work In [Permanent] Progress

Was looking through your peep hole and wondered if those cabinets had the new 5.2 GHZ IBM CPU chips inside ;O)

A little big milestone was that we hit the exact 2300 CPU years last night, 7 days rolling and 440 TFL to go with that. The 21 Day mean is now has well passed the 425... 430 TFL it is... so very very soon that 0.5 PetaFlop Thread will be initiated.

And well, we also hit that real big marker... 400 TFL 60 day mean (no Truncated or Robust Winsorized Regression stats used here... it's for fun, these stats ;P)

Crunching on with Clean Water which hit a day record yesterday at 42.2 CPU years... the share is on the rise.

You are completely right, and according to my habit they run overclocked at 10 Ghz laughing

Re: Building the 400 Teraflop Machine... a Work In [Permanent] Progress

Great news to see the TFL counters go through the roof.
Couldn't resist trying to estimate the TFL by the time the next summer dip arrives. Estimated from Sek's graph:
Beginning of summer dip 2009: 330 TFL
Beginning of summer dip 2010: 405 TFL (= 22.7% increase in 1 year)
Beginning of summer dip 2011: 405 + 22.7% = 497 TFL. Awfully close biggrin
