My GTX470 averaged about 58.5K per day, not me
![]() The GTX470 has since moved up to 59K per day and could even out at about 68K per day. I only used that card as it is similar to the slim-line GTX470 - to get a ball park figure. By the way, I saw a Dual GTX470 prototype, http://i.imgur.com/yDWhk.jpg So theoretically speaking, if you used 7 of these and were you able to get the same performance, and make them fit, you could double your numbers. Not sure that the numbers are correct though, If 1TFlop = 8 WCG Points, and I get 4.7 WCG points per second, then should we not divide 4.7 by 8 giving 0.5875 TFlops? Boinc says my GTX470 has about 1200GFlops peak. So I could not have 1.7TFlops if my peak is 1.2TFlops! |

If 1TFlop = 8 WCG Points, and I get 4.7 WCG points per second, then should we not divide 4.7 by 8 giving 0.5875 TFlops? Oooops!!! My Error. You are absolutely right. Shame on me. ![]() If 1TFLOP ----> 8 WCG points then 1TFLOPS -----> 8 WCG points/sec So 4.7 WCG Points /sec are less than 1 TFLOPS for sure. As you said 4.7/8 ---> 0.587 TFLOPS. Sorry for that. If you double your cards you will effectively go over the 1TFLOPS line. ![]() |

7 Dual GTX470's could in theory take you to 9.6TFlops.

7 Dual GTX470's could in theory take you to 9.6TFlops. Unfortunately between theory and reality there is an ocean of uncertainty. ![]() ![]() |

Looks like the 400 TFlops machine is dragging it's feet.
----------------------------------------The Sek-graph shows we are now well under 400 TFlops. Seems like we entered the summer-dip. ![]() Judging from the summer-dip last year, it may take until the end of august until we hit 400 TFlops again. ![]() |

Some people have to stop/reduce crunching due to room temperature rises. Some go on holidays. Generally people go out more, as there is more light and it is warmer (in the northern hemisphere where most crunching is done).
By the way, although you could reach 400 Teraflops, in theory, with 42 systems, they would cost about 250K just to build, and could not do the work that is done here. |

Half the Northern Hemisphere may be on vacation or hiding for that copper plow that rounds the sky each day, but the die hard power crunchers continue churning away: Record TFlops per CPU year being contributed to WCG:

To give you just a small hand Sek to compensate for those who left, for a few days I power all what I have (or nearly, one less). Wife and kids left for vacation, so i turned the house in a crunching inferno.
----------------------------------------![]() ![]() But unfortunately it won't last. ![]() Happy crunching and nice holidays to all of you around the globe. ![]() Summer or Winter depending on which hemisphere you are. ![]() ![]() |

Dual socket 1366 system w/L5630(40w) 32nm quads.. App 40K WCG a day at 165w elec load and temps in the mid 30's.. Not a beast but interesting system with decent output and reasonable electrical usage.. ![]() |
