Credit claimed/granted spread?

I'd like to know why there is such an inconsistent spread between points claimed and granted on these work units which are all Rice and as you can see all the same run time?

I'm accustomed to regularly getting less than the machine claims but now I see some in fact very close while some are getting quite a spread in the numbers.

Re: Credit claimed/granted spread?

rice always runs 7 hours and then cuts off, it's not like you actually *finish* the WU. There is a fancy algorythm that determines how points are distributed ... but in part it depends on your benchmarks and what the other machines in the quorum were able to accomplish in the same 7 hours.

Re: Credit claimed/granted spread?

It also depends on what else your machine may have been doing during the time the unit was being crunched. What is granted in each individual unit may vary, but over time your machine should perform in a fairly consistent manner. Also individual processors perform differently in different projects. For instance I have a machine which consistenly overclaims in some projects, but comes very close to claims = granted in other projects.

Cheers
