I, very recently, found out how to increase the number of WUs on each of my systems. This was a bit easier to see how to do with 6.10.17 (although the same capabilities have probably always been there) as the changes I made were to my preferences. I changed my maximum upload and download rates to 200 KB/sec and set my additional work buffer to 4 days. I now have 100 WUs queued so I don't have to be concerned about losing contact on the internet. I was only concerned that I may not be able to respond as quickly as I have in completing any WUs.

I have had good sucess (it took a while) with balancing WCG/ GPUGrid projects with 6.10.17. With a .35 day cache I can keep both my CPU and GPU fed properly without pounding the project servers asking for unecessary work or in GPUGrid's case, asking for WUs it won't give due to the 4 at a time limit. DCF still a little goofy but not a big deal as I have a small cache so even long running CMD2 (I love the ones over 9-10 hours ... killer points and with the new matching I frequently now see my wingman has completed also, not just cut off at 6 or 12) don;t really mess things up too badly. I have not tried with other CPU projects to see how well it balances (I might step back into Rosetta for a few days, my stats there are really bad) overall but I am cautiously optimistic that this is actually a pretty good release.

I saw a few good improvements, and the entrance of ATI cards should not be understated given the mess NVIDIA is in. I also saw a few bugs with the refresh/updating, but only on W7-64bit, worked fine with Vista. ...and then there was 6.10.18
