OMG. There is a difference between intrepid and foolhardy. This might not end well.

The August 2013 result is in and the average temperature from 2542 NOAA Weather Stations around the Globe was 21.80C

The average temperature September 2012 through to the end of August 2013 was 12.351C

Here's another forum friendly sized graph that updates hourly

The graph above is (at this moment in time) the result of 59,369,553 individual temperature measurements taken around the Globe from NOAA Weather Stations since the beginning of 2011 cool

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Morning Gerald

biggrin

Now you must know the reason for this it's obvious

You see the South Pole is warming alarmingly

(It isn't, see above, but don't let that get in the way of a tall tale wink)

and so more cold water, and fresh don't forget fresh, is melting off the Polar Ice cap

(It isn't as the South Polar Ice cap keeps increasing in overall mass , but again...)

Cold, just above melting point, fresh water is diluting the Sea around the cold Continent and thereby raising the temperature that Ice can form at and that's why there's record Sea Ice at the South Pole.

...because it's warmer cool

Of course why didn't we think of that d oh

They'll be telling us next that the reason there hasn't been any increase in Global Temperature in the 21st Century is because the Pacific has taken it in and hidden it whistling

The Central England Temperature is in smile

1.1C above average at a "blistering" 16.9C and yet still for the year to date we are 0.28C below the 1961-90 average - but tending towards 0 as you would expect.

August 2013's peers are 1704,1727,1743,1792,1807,1831,1835,1856 and 1937

Joint 306th warmest out of 355

You have to go back to 2004 to find a warmer one

Gerald and that's only when they are measuring it !

"Tepco admitted recently that only two workers had initially been assigned to check more than 1,000 storage tanks on the site. Neither of the workers carried dosimeters to measure their exposure to radiation, and some inspections had not been properly recorded."

Climate Change is quite simply the biggest challenge facing
humanity. The latest report from the Inter-Governmental
Panel on Climate Change leaves little doubt that human
activity, and in particular greenhouse-gas emissions,
is changing the world’s climate, with potentially devastating
consequences. But we have choices and decisions to make
about how we move towards a low-carbon economy.
I am determined that the Government will provide strong leadership in
meeting not only the challenge of climate change, but in addressing the
imperative of ensuring secure energy supplies. This means having reliable
access to the energy we need to power our economy, at affordable prices.
To meet this challenge we need to take determined long-term action to
reduce carbon emissions in every aspect of the way we live, the way we
use energy and the way we produce energy, including the way we generate
electricity. That is why the Government has today concluded that nuclear
should have a role to play in the generation of electricity, alongside other low
carbon technologies. We have therefore decided that the electricity industry
should, from now on be allowed to build and operate new nuclear power
stations, subject to meeting the normal planning and regulatory requirements.
Nuclear power is a tried and tested technology. It has provided the UK with
secure supplies of safe, low-carbon electricity for half a century. New nuclear
power stations will be better designed and more efficient than those they will
replace. More than ever before, nuclear power has a key role to play as part
of the UK’s energy mix. I am confident that nuclear power can and will make
a real contribution to meeting our commitments to limit damaging climate
change.

Apples with Apples out the window again

Just as we approach Sea Ice Minima throw in the the obfuscation, wave your hands in the air, claim nothing up this sleeve and apply the necessary fiddle factor to throw the original data under the bus.

Whichever way you look at it. It ain't disappearing

Just what we needed "Revised Sea Ice Extent Data" sad
