Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I need to improve my defensive code around the new NOAA USA layout

The new webpages are nowhere near as reliable as the old trusty ones with METAR observations

NOAA keep tweaking... they are not sure if Puerto Rico is in or out of the USA wink

There are some great news reports out there at moment discussing the made up truth. The collective madness is subsiding but it's going to take years until a Brit can say in polite company that he or she doesn't believe the ice caps are disappearing.

We'll get there. At least this guy is no longer in charge of Energy Policy (and Climate Change) in the UK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPr5kR3BwUA

Maybe a new energy policy based simply on the most cost effective way to deliver power to the people of the UK might now be at least a possibility?

I wouldn't "prevent the exhalation of excess CO2 due to respiration" though

I'm now closer to 50 than 40

A life is unfairly short - make yours or someone else's better today if you get the chance.

Nite all rose

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

With the ClimateGate revelations of flimsy “science” behind the man-made global warming theory, the role of the religious left in promoting this fraudulent scheme now deserves serious media scrutiny. Walter Grazer, who served as the Director of the Environmental Justice Program for the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops from 1993 to 2007 and is now interim executive director of the National Religious Partnership for the Environment (NRPE),was asked for a comment on ClimateGate and replied, “I am really not up on that issue at all.” http://religiousleftexposed.com/home/2010/05/...-end-of-christianity.html

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/feb/08/glaciers-mountains?intcmp=122

Have a read it will make you smile it's atarts with

"The world's greatest snow-capped peaks, which run in a chain from the Himalayas to Tian Shan on the border of China and Kyrgyzstan, have lost no ice over the last decade, new research shows."

"The discovery has stunned scientists, who had believed that around 50bn tonnes of meltwater were being shed each year and not being replaced by new snowfall."

this then turns into

The scientists are careful to point out that lower-altitude glaciers in the Asian mountain ranges – sometimes dubbed the "third pole" – are definitely melting. Satellite images and reports confirm this. But over the study period from 2003-10 enough ice was added to the peaks to compensate. laughing

and then by the end it's

"The new data does not mean that concerns about climate change are overblown in any way. (heaven forbid such a thing wink ) It means there is a much larger uncertainty in high mountain Asia than we thought. Taken globally all the observations of the Earth's ice – permafrost, Arctic sea ice, snow cover and glaciers – are going in the same direction."

What might this direction be? Horizontal like the Global Temperature? wink

If you put your finger in a flame and it gets burnt - do you do it again?
