Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

After around 3,794,880 individual temperature measurements from Afghanistan to Yemen, and also most places in between, we now have 2 monthly average figures from The Global Thermometer using the NOAA monitored weather stations as the source data (e.g. http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EGNM.html)

January 2011 1.44°C
February 2011 2.90°C

biggrin

The Land based Winter (predominately Northern Hemisphere) bottomed out at 07:00 UTC on the 10th February so, statistically for the majority of the readers of this thread, it's getting warmer folks cool

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

With a delightfully mild February in the UK the Central England Temperature data (CET) is in for Winter 2010/11 which is taken to be Dec,Jan and Feb

February came in 2.7C above normal at 6.4C which is some consolation for the bitter December (The yin and yang of weather)

Overall Winter 2010/11 was 0.6C below the average temperature for the series 1660 to 2011 at 3.1C.

It ranked 241st out of 352 past winters alongside 1907, 1900, 1854, 1842, 1813, 1811, 1752, 1744, 1742 and 1726

The warming power of that 0.038% of the atmosphere that is Carbon Dioxide is simply awesome thinking

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

February 2011 had 1,742,000 sq kms more snow than normal in the Northern Hemisphere ranking 10th in the last 45 years of the Satellite record, covering 47,381,000 sq kms of our Planets land mass

31.8% of the total land mass of the globe covered by just the Northern Hemisphere Snow

Almost half of the land North of the Equator !

It must be on account of the terrible catastrophic warming thinking

wink

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

high gas prices...

Everything is relative

If only we had to pay a $1 / gallon in tax (even with your short measures wink)

Currently paying $5.27 per US Gallon Tax .....and then we are allowed to pay for the petrol in the UK

It's why we can't go anywhere anymore. These days the roads are practically empty at the weekend.

....and they are increasing the fuel duty by another penny (+VAT - now 20%) on April 1st

Can't wait

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I see you are paying an average of $3.40 total

http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petroleum/data...wrgp/mogas_home_page.html

We are currently paying $7.97 for the very same. Imagine the impact on the economy.
