judson, the 64 supplementary results that validated yesterday had a mean run time of 37 hours. The total time of those was 97 days CPU time. Pretty good I'd think.
----------------------------------------What I can see is that the toughest Beta "per result" ever conducted on WCG was the HCMD2 beta of May 3-7 which had 4 days over 40 hours incl. a day of 84 hours mean per job (69 results). PS My Beta history reaches no further than 1.1.2007

I can say that my wu will not be completed by the due date.
----------------------------------------BETA_ erag_ a059_ ps0000_ 6-- CPU time is 34 hrs with 32.360% done. Is it going to be allowed to finish? Due date is 10/18 at 4:43 am :) |

Diana G. Since yours will finish most probably before the 'No Reply' make up job, no worries. The moment yours is back, the servers prep a message for the extra job. If that client has not started the job it will be canceled. And even is it isn't returned before the make up job, WCG has this grace period. It's without your clients fault that the run times are much longer than the original projected times.

This is not cool. After crunching for 31 hours and with 6 hours to the deadline, my result is 'Too Late'. What is also strange is that other members who crunched the same task are also 'Too Late', but I yesterday were 'Inconclusive'.

It's a false positive. Don't worry about it. When the Beta top up to finish the open quorums is complete the revalidation will be run and points/time credited. Till then, these results are going to stick.

Great as I just spent 35 hours for inconclusive. Though I am hot on the "Tails" of Evilkats, I too do not want to loose the points. Evilkats I going to catch you all!

Sekerob,
No problem, As I understand based on your explanation. Just very competitive but fair is fair and hate to see something that might discourage any cruincher. Thanks |

I care about the one I had! BETA_erag_a003_ps0000 was returned well within time, was siting in PV and now is too late and getting nothing? If it had failed part way or was returned with invalid results I could accept it, but to turn in a 66.65 hr WU and have it binned without even confirming if the result was valid or not seems a bit harsh when invalid results are getting credit. I noticed I had one of those too, although mine was only 3.97 hours. Not nearly as painful as your 66 hours lost. I had one of 52h first pending, then too late and now missing in action. I am just going to assume that it will be manually credited? |
