this has nothing to do with crunching, just a kind of philosophical question: What are you going to do today that will make someone else's life better? (crunching doesn't count, it's a given) Thanks for trying. ![]() |

(crunching doesn't count, it's a given) Thanks for trying. ![]() I suspect that people are not comfortable talking about those things. But that is just a guess. my guess is that we have gotten away from the friendly conversation that we used to have around here. i'm not sure if people are just real busy or what. i spent five years on this project as a lurker, so i have much of the responsibility for this problem. some may have taken the question as rhetorical, but i didn't mean it that way. i am seriously interested in what, if anything, people do for other people. i'm not interested in hearing about it so we can hold up the person as a saint. what i have noticed over the years is that when people start sharing their stories it encourages others to action, either by emulating the actions that were mentioned or by thinking of new ways of action. i routinely pay for the order of the people behind me at the drive through. i don't miss the ten bucks that much and i know it makes the folks behind me smile after i have driven off and they can't thank me. what do you do? Well that is a very nice thing to do--you are in no way a problem--sometimes we are just to busy doing nothing of value like me--When i am working its all i can do to come home then go to bed,as i am an old man.But working keeps me interested in living since my wife passed I for one am pleased you are still here and crunching |

What do I do to make the world a better place each day?
----------------------------------------1) I do little things. Hold open doors for women and children. Others too. Help ladies to their cars in bad weather. Get wheelchairs for people who think they can walk without one, even though they shouldn't. 2) When i'm driving, I'm never in a hurry any more. I let people in line ahead of me. I slow down and keep distance. I arrive in one piece too. :) 3) I get to teach parents and some children every day I work. :) 4) I also get to occasionally terrorize a teenager or two. Talk about fun. :) We all do things every day to make the world better, in my opinion. It's been slow in here lately, but it's also the weather and other things involved. It will all be better, I promise. :) Dr. Mike.. P.S. Get those flu shots if you can, or think you should. The mist if you're young enough. ;) ![]() |
