Re: Rice betas

They appear to be running almost twice as long as the original "to be completed" estimate that boinc gives out.

also nelsoc said in the beta announcement forum:

"The work units that are going out do not have the BETA prefix as they usually are supposed to. Those paying attention will be able to identify them by a shorter workunit deadline than usual. Our apologies for any confusion this may cause."

mine say "beta testing - nutritious rice for the world 6.09"

Re: Rice betas

He was surely talking about the WU name, not the application name :D

Re: Rice betas

The possible confusion would also be in the Results Status pages where these WU's appear as "regular" rice units as opposed to beta's. smile

Re: Rice betas

The beta work units are R00361_ in work unit name. So if you are looking at the results status page, you will see them like this. You can filter based on BETA work units in the Result status page to see them all easily.

Thanks,

The First few that I picked up said they would run for 10 hours. After a few minutes they changed to something else ranging from 4.5 to 7 hours depending on the system.

Re: Rice betas

These are all going to be 7 hour runtime work units. Similar to the length you see in the regular production versions.

Thanks,
