To administration of WCG: Is it real for WCG? At this time we have no plans for additional languages. Our studies have shown that when we add a language to the site, there are not a significant number of people joining from countries where that language is spoken. We may revisit this in 2010. Thanks for asking. I checked number of people that can speak on French language: more than 200 million (270 million by another data). As I mentioned above the number that can speak on Russian language: 278 million (300-350 million by another data). Just look number of members from only France vs only Russia : 25001 vs 2501 ! This is mystic quantity and ratio! France have 10 times more members than from Russia! In spite of Russia have more than two times more people than France. Just think again about opportunity. Hi Stanislav!
----------------------------------------Maybe you could look for a Russian research lab which would have a project to submit to WCG? I think that the HCMD1 project has probably accelerated the occurrence of the French version of the WCG website. It certainly added to this other fact that the first Decrypthon experiment in France in 2001 (much before WCG starts) had attracted 70,000 participants. Same for Japan. If it was only a matter of how many people speak the language Chinese would have been the first language added to English... In the meantime, as it has been already suggested, do not hesitate to add Russian translations to the appropriate sections of this forum or to the Wiki whenever you want. That would be a start. Cheers. Jean. |
