Windows 7 support

I'm testing Windows 7 pre-release version and I'd been trying to install and run BOINC agent without successful results. Do you know if there is supported BOINC agent version for Win 7? Or, are there any recomendations to install and setup the agent on Win 7? sad

Re: Windows 7 support

What version are you trying to install? Try BOINC 6.2.28, the WCG default/strongly recommended version.

Hi :)

On windows 7, for environnemental save, windows 7 cut off everything after certain time.

In french, it's "Veille", you need to configure your windows to never go on "Veille" to work everytime.

I remember something like 3 hours without "move mouse" and windows goes on "VEILLE".

In french, this option is in :

Panneau de configuration\Matériel et audio\Options d’alimentation\Modifier les paramètres du mode de gestion de l’alimentation

I'm sorry but i can't know how it's write in english :/

Re: Windows 7 support

I have W7 running with BOINC manager 6.2.28 without problems.

Just download again and install as a service, anyway be sure that you allow BOINC run if W7 ask you about it in a popup like block |(it happenned with me, I allow and ran it smoothing until now).

Re: Windows 7 support

To all,

thank you for your answers and comments, I found what was the issue.

It seems that I only need to run the BOINC agent as administrator, my userID have the privileges, but as you know, Windows 7 security paranoia prevents possible security breaches. BOINC Agent 6.2.28 is running fine, now I can contribute again to this project.
