Hi,
I've installed BOINC on an older single core computer (AMD Athlon XP 2000+) - there the CPU goes to a constant 100% when BOINC is running. That is OK. And I've installed BOINC on a modern dual core Intel machine (Core 2 Duo E8400). Here, the CPU load is oscillating between 100% and almost 0% alle thime, simultanuouesly on both cores. I've checked the process list and have discovered that the relveant processes are switched on and off every second. How come? Why aren't these processes running all the time? We could have almost double the crunching speed. On the wcg-website I've changed the setting to maximum performance, but even two days later that hasn't changed anything. What can I do to get maximum performance out of my new machine? Is there a way to get 100% CPU load? TNX |
