One of my WCG tasks (for HCMD Phase 2) has gone past 100% progress and reports '--' To Completion, but is not showing as ready to report and is still calculating. I've seen a few tasks go to 101% or 102% before being reported, but this one is at 142.9% and counting.
----------------------------------------Does anyone know why this is happening? Should I just let it keep going or should I abort the task so that I can donate my computer time to projects more likely to finish and report. How long has it been running? If the task is really stuck then you miught try a reboot to see if that helps, and finally, on rare occasions a WU dioes get stuck and needs to be aborted. Have you looked at the Result on the web page to see if anyone else has already run and errored or aborted that WU?

As Steve said you may first try a restart of Boinc before aborting this WU, and if you are running Boinc as a service rebooting is the simplest way to do it.
----------------------------------------That seems to be a particular exceptional timing problem which has been reported only a few times for this project (vs 7 million WUs), so it is not possible to replicate it and it would be very difficult to investigate it. Cheers. Jean. |
