Unfortunately we are only able to award credit for results that are still present in the database. I sincerely apologize for that limitation. I will revise the opening post in this thread to reflect that.

Are workunits that show up in the results status "still present in the database"?
----------------------------------------I had nearly 4 pages of errors at one point. Now, there is a single workunit remaining in my error list: E000768_458C_005v01805. I'm mostly asking to understand more about the terminology used. |

Are workunits that show up in the results status "still present in the database"? Yes - the results shown on the 'results status' page are all the results that are still stored in the database. We archive actual computed data and return it to the researchers. However, due to the large numbers of results we have to purge the table which stores information about who processed which workunit (i.e. the 'RESULTS' table) so that performance of the system remains acceptable. |

Yes - the results shown on the 'results status' page are all the results that are still stored in the database. Maybe it's an idea to first delete only the valid results from the database (say after a few days) and keep the other results (error, invalid etc..) for a few weeks longer. ![]() |

Unfortunately we are only able to award credit for results that are still present in the database. I'm just under 1.5 hours shy of getting my silver badge on CEP, any of the lost WUs would get me there, but they are no longer on the database Waiting for at least one CEP WU, but for several days I'm not getting any. I understand that during the maintenance there was a shortage of CEP WUs. Is this already resolved? The bad news is we have run out of work for CEP1 on the loader which means if you have CEP1 selected only you will receive a message saying no new work is available. |

I had a fresh few this morning... they're now mine, mine, 26 days short of double gold (including the PV jail results)

Maybe it's an idea to first delete only the valid results from the database (say after a few days) and keep the other results (error, invalid etc..) for a few weeks longer. Very often problem batches stay on the system for longer **, but in the case of CEP, this project is already in very slow mode due to the huge storage capacity it eats. ** Think this was a very unfortunate circumstance. WCG keeps results visible up to 4 days after they've passed the validator or until the whole batch completes, so if you pick up the first tasks, you'd probably see them for a week or longer. At most BOINC projects you don't get to see anything beyond 24 hours after completion. It's all about overall performance.

EDIT: We missed a set of results that should have credit granted due to this issue. We have just now awarded credit to those results. EDIT2: Clarified that credit was granted for result that were still present in the database. I'm still not getting it. Are they all supposed to have been handled? This one is still showing up: E000768_ 458C_ 005v01805_ 3-- 632 Aborted 6/30/09 00:32:25 6/30/09 13:52:53 1.84 32.9 / 32.9 E000768_ 458C_ 005v01805_ 2-- 632 Error 6/28/09 23:14:22 6/29/09 23:20:24 11.12 137.8 / 137.8 E000768_ 458C_ 005v01805_ 1-- 632 Error 6/27/09 20:26:29 6/28/09 22:48:46 5.99 127.9 / 127.9 E000768_ 458C_ 005v01805_ 0-- 632 Aborted 6/27/09 20:25:40 7/8/09 13:40:59 5.94 104.4 / 104.4 |

Based on several posts, I was under the impression that the errored units from the other day had all been cleared. This one doesn't seem to be cleared.
----------------------------------------Maybe I'm being anal, but I don't like seeing errors in my results. This is the last -131 error unit out of 4 pages. |
