Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 34 smilesmile

Well, if my math is correct, 0.38 an hour times 24 hours is $9.12 a day, times 365 days is $3,328.80 a year. That would be a nice deduction!

What are they going to say, NO?

No wonder why I am always broke! laughing

Edit - Oops - may math isn't right. Your number was for 1KW, and I am only using .25KW.
So, my usage is $832 a year. I can probably pull that one off...

laughing biggrin
Just some of my "finger and toe" math. If I run 32 cores (Q6600's) and 6 cards (9800GT's) 24/7 ... its costs ~$410/month now. beat up But heck, like the DC world advertises ... you are just using your unused CPU cycles. laughing biggrin laughing laughing biggrin laughing biggrin Of course some ... like Master Blizze get their electrons for free. sad
Running a farm is not for the faint of heart ... but then ... that's not why we are here. All of it just might produce some results some day.
peace

I would love to have an access to free power, just for a crunching machine. Maybe someday when I have a real job, I can leave my quad with multiple graphics running BOINC in my office. Then I won't have to do things like declock my processor in summer (sorry y'all its just too hot in Boston right now). I went from 3.2 ghz back down to stock 2.4 ghz just to deal with the heat.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 34 smilesmile

I finally had to kill off the seti gpu wu's. After I got through all of the 12 min ones, it gave me about 75 1 hour wu's. I went into the seti preferences and unchecked the GPU processing box.
Now both computers are running GPUGrid.

Edit - I forgot to mention that the GTX260 takes about 75 watts to run GPUGrid.

75 watts? No way.. It has to be at least 100w? confused

I'm not sure what the card takes just to run, but when I shut down GPU crunching, the watts through the UPS drops about 75-80 watts. The temp drops from 78 down to about 68 so I'm pretty sure it quit running.

Ah, that's how much more it uses to run GPUGrid. It has an idle voltage though. So it makes sense. laughing
