Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

What size uploads is everyone seeing on the type B tasks?

I have finished 3 of the type B tasks and was able to monitor 2 of the completions. Each task's upload was approximately 7.5 MB among 4 files with the _1 file being the largest.

Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

Thanks a lot guys, I'll do just that Sek.

BTW, I've been running WCG in the last few weeks for about 20-24 hrs/day.

Cheers.

Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

Can anyone tell me what is this?

20/03/2009 06:19:00 a.m.|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 1329323 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
20/03/2009 06:19:05 a.m.|World Community Grid|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
20/03/2009 06:19:05 a.m.|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work sent
20/03/2009 06:19:05 a.m.|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the website.
20/03/2009 06:19:05 a.m.|World Community Grid|Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 80.3% of time, BOINC on 97.4% of that

I guess is from the CEP, but I don't understand the messages, is like I was behind schedule or something, I don't get error messages that make sense like I've seen on other posts.

Thanks. Regards.

I'm getting the same issue:
21/03/2009 04:46:07|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 595 seconds of work, reporting 1 completed tasks
21/03/2009 04:46:17|World Community Grid|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

21/03/2009 04:46:17|World Community Grid|Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 100.0% of time, BOINC on 93.6% of that

My buffer is set to 1 day. System is Intel dual core running Vista x64. Another system I had downloaded a CEP WU yesterday and that is only on about 8 hours a day, but that is an XP 32-bit system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

The message is direct and simple. Even if your machine is on 100% of the time, BOINC is only running a part of that time. Thus, you're cut off from buffering new work before current work is finished.

When I came back from a month away, my quad refused to fill buffer simply because BOINC knows the "average" crunching done on that machine in recent history. Let it run and eventually the control parms will adjust, or follow what Saul did... reset project.

Thanks Sekerob. My other WUs have finished and it has now downloaded and started crunching a CEP WU. Hopefully it will come back in line soon.

Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

It's the result of the next line "transient upload error", and the next, telling you it's going to try again in a minute, when the lock expires. If it then fails BOINC will try again and again until it succeeds.

The net is, if an upload fails somehow to upload, the server puts on a temporary safety for it's own protection.

Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

Has the recent little spurt of CEP Type B production WUs dried up? [Resolved: No new work being sent.]
I got 6 of these about 2 days ago, but none since.

Re: New work available for the Clean Energy Project...

My HFCC/CEP mix duo picked up the last one at 13:18pm today, 6 are in queue received in the last 36 hours. Just about right for me. They seem to find quorum relatively quickly. Just 3 of 14 completed in last 48 hours are in PV.
