You have been crunching longer. ![]() Well ... duh? ![]() ![]() My overclocked cards > your stock ones. Wrong again, grasshopper. GPU's are OC'ed just not the CPU's. But it may come to that too. ![]() ![]() Overclocked to the max? |

Overclocked to the max? I'd wager not as much as yours. ![]() Speaking of that ... rain off and on today so I should have some time to check out the other 3 to see if anything is fried other than the PS. Then I can make a parts list. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

True, but soon your own card will defect to Blizzie's team. Strange comment ... I thought "we" were on the same team. ![]() Then what shall we do DM? Race you for pink slips. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() True we're all on the same team, but inside MOT, team "youth and exuberance" needs all the help it can get against team "age and experience!" |

Musical chairs. It is fun.... ![]() Thanks, I figured that was the case. Good news on the first one though it is up and running (sorta). GPU is running fine but WCG won't send any work. It gives the message that the computer is on 99.9% but BOINC is on 0.01% and cannot finish in time. I think a BOINC file may be corrupt and I'll reinstall it after lunch. The burned out PS was a bit scary. You can see where the wiring has softened and wrinkled. It did not melt but was getting there. ![]() The replacement UPS and KVM switch arrived today. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Or do you just have really really really bad luck? |

Or do you just have really really really bad luck? It burnt out the UPS (which should have prevented it from going further) and the surge protected powerstrips attached to it ... and then fried the 4 power supplies of the 4 affected machines. Actually I feel very lucky as I have 2 of them repaired with just 2 PS's. ![]() I'm going to reinstall BOINC on the one I fixed today and maybe WCG will give it work. ![]() EDIT: Did I ever mention how much I HATE working on hardware? I need new eyes!!! ![]() ![]() EDIT 2: The reinstall worked. Now running 4+1. ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Dataman at Apr 8, 2009 7:15:41 PM] |

That is the last place I would have expected to get protection from ![]() |
