Re: CEP type B Beta

Don't pay any attention to astrolab - you have nothing to apologies for. I'm sorry you have had such an unpleasant experience.

Astrolab: be nice.

And for future reference: we have no problem answering any questions, whether they are in the FAQ or not.

ok

Re: CEP type B Beta

And the reason is that we have some awesome communications people doing press releases for each launch. They asked us to keep things quiet until the press releases go out and we intend to abide by their wishes.

This is relevant to new projects, but not to my point. When CEP was released, we were told Linux WUs would follow soon, and that ended up being 2 months. CEP type A is suspended "temporarily", whatever that means. When type B units are mentioned, again, no suggestion of when.

When phases of a project stop, start or don't work, it would be polite, show competence, and show some regard for those who provide all this CPU time for nothing if WCG were to simply to give some kind of estimates for when they intend the next phase to be. This lack of information simply looks disorganised and wastes people's time. You get various threads of conjecture and questions because WCG won't just simply add "and we expect the delay to be about X days/weeks/months".

Re: CEP type B Beta

We will try to provide better information for issues with active projects. Please keep in mind that much of the schedule is out of our control, and is in the hands of the researchers.

Speaking of the researchers' schedules.... the Scripps folks worked around the clock to make sure that there would be lots of good FAAH work units available. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=24611

Maybe you are simply disagreeing on whether 2 months is "soon". Maybe it is and maybe it isn't. Depends on your point of view.
