Quiet in here today so I hope you're all doing something really useful. Sorry that you can't make Merle but I hope your daily exercise gets you fully fit for next year. |

Evening all It seems to have been a nice day today, no rain, dog and I have been on a couple of nice long walks, naturally he is asleep whilst I have still to prepare his meals! No sooner he has eaten, he will want to go out again!
Have a great day at the picnic at the weekend, will try to make it next year. |

"Jacobs join" is what we call bringing a selection to share at a picnic in these parts No thats not a pkt of cream crackers Ah lovely... I'm glad it's got a name. It's the same as what the US call a "Pot Luck Dinner". I quick scan through that mine of misinformation, Wikipedia gives some more synonyms: A potluck is a gathering of people where each person is expected to bring a dish of food to be shared among the group. Synonyms include: potluck dinner, Jacob's join, Jacob's supper, faith supper, covered dish supper, pitch-in, carry-in, bring-a-plate, fuddle. I like the idea of a Fuddle! |

Good Morning. You have sun? What? That's so not fair. What's sun?  Afternoon all.......... I like the sound of FUDDLE too, could be a name for chocolate fudge, yummy  Overcast but no tedding here in the midlands, glad we didn't get the weather that Suffolk had yesterday! lightning, hail. rain and mini tornado type winds  Have a safe day all ...........
