Re: Re:Edwardians

Sorry, but just about to go into hospital, and I am afraid it is taking all my energy to get ready for that! I also have to get the spare bedroom sorted out as I am not allowed to be here alone when I get home, so have arranged for a friend to come and stay here. (Poor girl!!) Not helped by the fact that my daughter is away on holiday at the moment in Cornwall!

Never mind. maybe when I am 'released' and 'recovered' we could look at the diaries again, and catch up with each other.

Take care and stay safe.

Re: Re:Edwardians

I'll bring my laptop and hopefully be able to connect along the road so to speak.
I'll post my route plan, and I'll look at this thread whenever possible.

In my head, I think I would pass your place on my way back going from Poole toward Dover on September 26 (Monday).

However, the most important is to get you fit again, and I understand fully you need to concentrate on that.

Yesterday I drove a friend (actually our very first carpenter's apprentice I have connected with again)
to a hospital 1 hour from here yesterday and picked him up again today.
He was quite groggy and in his confusion forgot his important asthma medication and measure gear
so we made the trip once more. No, it's difficult with medical issues.

Best of luck to you from me, swee Merle rose

Re: Re:Edwardians

Here is an outline of my travel plans. From Dover counter clockwise
- everything is opposite in your country anyway
devilish
- may as well get used to it.
biggrin

If you can think of any must-sees along that route, I shall be happy to hear your input.

Dover - East Kirby - York and Myton on Swale - Hadrian's Wall - Lake District - Liverpool - Coventry - Barry (Vale of Glamorgan) - New Milton - Poole - Dover

Re: Re:Edwardians

...what is the timescale?
My mobile (cell) number for meeting in Poole is 07792249373.
Note that I only have it switched on when I am out and about in the car, so it may not get answered. On the 25th however, I should be in Poole after 13:00 so it would be on so that you can arrange to meet somewhere around the Lord Nelson..... biggrin

Re: Re:Edwardians

I have made a note of your phone #
I intend to attend the New Milton event on the night of September 24
and spend the night and the next one in Poole at a hotel, Guitar Man mentioned:
Premier Travel Inn
Sterte Avenue West
Poole
The distance from there to The Lord Nelson is app. 2 km
and would be a nice walk to get any hangovers blown away ...
I'll sit on the bench to the left of the entrance at
The Lord Nelson
at 13:00 GMT+1 and see if they are open for coffee and a light meal ...
