Re: .

We have just had a Double fly past of a light aircraft towing a Banner .
" The Phantom of the Bay is here "
Had to look it up on T'internet The local Radio station "Bay Radio" is doing a Promotion Find and Challenge The Phantom of the Bay
You Are The Phantom and I claim my Prize
Nothing new under the Sun is there smile The Mail Or the Sketch ran a similar stunt post war
You Are Lobby Lud And I claim my 5/=
Lobby Lud visited seaside resorts in the summer I think he was identified by the trench coat and Trilby .
More recently in a Hercule Poirot adventure the Belgium Sleuth was challenged I cant quite remember the exact tale but it made me smile.

++++++++++++++++

Bye the Bye, I have today single handed saved the lives of most of us who live in England

Quite simple really, I received one of those round Robin letters Promising that I would come into a great fortune if I passed it on to at least 38 other people.
BUT should I fail to do this a Horrible event would befall me,
to whit -------The moon would fall and squash me flat crying
I quickly worked out that should the Moon fall on me
it might well affect a great deal of the population of the northern hemisphere.
So I have sent it on.
No no need for thanks, I'm just like that devilish

Re: .

Evening all

The monthly Village gardening morning consisted of us being photographed with the banner confirming our status as the winner of the 2010 London Village award. I can't say that I had that much to do with it but 'she who must be obeyed' keeps us all in order and you feel a right twit to disappoint her.

I then opted out of the area rose bush pruning having no idea myself of the right bud to choose to pick for the cutting.

P

Whats the P for I bet your asking ???? smile
" Product Placement " Product placement is now allowed In soaps and chat shows so I thought why not here as well

I am compelled By OFFCRUNCH to announce by inserting a P that A Product might be Placed In the Post .
It mustn't be intrusive so you might have to search for it Might be a bottle of Camp Coffee ? A tin of Zubes or a Roll Of Izal ?????
I don't care as long as I get paid the appropriate amount for placing it . devilish
Have A Nice Day all

******************
PS what goes around comes around I remember on Black and White TV
'Jims Inn'
Product placement all the way Jim Hanley and family
in a Pub telling us how wonderful Tide and Oxidol were at getting the families washing clean and a bowl of grape nuts would set you up for the day. Failing that should yo not like the grapenuts getting under your plate(teef) " Force" stopped you feeling down in the dumps.....

I have never forgotten this little ditty, It shows how an advert can stick in your brain ........

'What's the beer that's always best? Watneys draft Red Barrel, the special brew that beats the rest, Watneys draft Red Barrel, drink Red Barrel near or far in club or pub or any bar, for beer thats best where ever you are , drink Watneys draft Red Barrel ..... couldn't stomach the stuff myself, filled me with wind!!

Re: .

Evening all

Can any of you still get real ale in your local? I remember when I lived in Old Windsor, the guys would get together for a crib or cards evening with a pin of Bitter delivered a few days earlier.

Now you would have to search for a Real Ale pub. Here, I see the deliveries which are just the metal casks being rolled into the cellar. It's a while since I favoured a pub near Maidenhead where the barrels were on view in an alcove behind the bar and you could see your pint being carefully pulled.
