Good morning everyone.
Ottery St Mary brought back some memories. Whist stationed at Lympstone in Devon I served with a lad called Billy Hind, who hailed from Ottery St Mary- we had some great times together in those far and distant days (Over 50 years ago!). Calm before the storm Merle? |

tsssssss untrusty weatherforecasts
weather was grey, bordering on lousy all week and they predicted an entire day of rain today, so rushed everywhere yesterday to avoid having to go out today...what happens, it rains all morning then clears right up and the.sun.is.shining now i just have to take casper for a walk! |

Car washing day today so much muck on the roads of late There are lots of "Hand" wash sites spring up
----------------------------------------but they use power washers cant think that does the paintwork much good Its also Bonfire night Fireworks from the Castle , I know, I know The 5th was yesterday  |

Evening all
A slightly cooler day today but dry so the monthly gardening morning was painless and we planted a few hundred bulbs. Spoke to number 2 daughter in Bradford (county rather than city) as it's her birthday only to find that the parcel sent on Monday has not arrived so it's clearly sunk into the Royal Mail hole. As it was sent by the buyer, hopefully they are insured and will send a replacement. It's quiet tonight so no late firework parties in the neighbourhood. My Devon friends found the idea of moving there from Windsor was pleasant enough but they had three boys and the lack of opportunities when they left school meant that they all moved on, one not too far away in Brighton, but the other two in Germany when they looked to find jobs. |

watched the Fireworks at the castle from the bedroom window

interesting add-on to the F1 scene , kidnapping of drivers.
----------------------------------------BBC on line reporting Jensons view of thins was quite different from the supposed quote straight from the horses mouth in the Telegraph was much more graphic "The Trained Police evasion driver angled the car and floored it bouncing over several cars " The Beeb motor sport reporter said Jenson saw 6 guys with Machine guns surrounding the car In another version Jenson saw a guy with a baseball bat when another passenger said Aint that a gun and sure enough one of the crowd had drawn a gun ????? 45F here in sunny Florida. Having January temps after extending the record highs from August straight thru. Looks like we'll be having record lows for awhile now, just for balance.
