Re: Normal service

Evening all

Cool and now wet, in sympathy with the soccer I suppose.

Have a good weekend - not very encouraging forecast for prospective barbecues.

Re: Normal service

Evening all

Warm enough for me to get in the garden again only to find I didn't know where I put the secateurs. I know they're more than twenty years old so I guess their memory is going to pots just like mine.

I have a couple of modern pairs and a owld family pair circa 1940 ish granddads I like to use the family pair when ever not quite as efficient as the newer ones but very satisfying to use tools Grandad used also have a nice spade everkeen well worn

Re: Normal service

Good Morning smile

Nothing exceptional in the weather so far Dry and sunny
Apro pro about nufing
An amusing ditty
from a sub-marina Cyril Tawny Sadly deceased

Written by Cyril Tawney

Stanley’s a rat and a fast one at that
From bulkhead to bulkhead in four seconds flat
He’s come and he’s gone ‘ere an eyelid could bat
But he’d do it much quicker if we had a cat.

One flashing run and his visit is done
Stan never lingers to join in the fun
Our hospitality he’d rather shun
But he’d stay a bit longer if we had a gun.

I raises my cap to this beady-eyed chap
Who needs no compass and carries no map
Doesn’t know what it means for to get in a flap
But we’d bloody soon show him if we had a trap.

When does he doze? Nobody knows
Night and day he keeps on his toes
I don’t suppose that his eyes ever close
But he’d sleep forever and ever and ever
if we had a high pressure hose.

Read it out loud for best effect

+=========
Cyril was a great raconteur
west country lad folk songs and tales of undesea events

Well lets hope Wimbledon won't be as the England football......... like watching paint dry. crying

Well of course if I am daft enough to want a Brit to win, it will be, but I am still hanging on for dear life that Nadal will want an older girl friend. biggrin
