Evening all

It's been a very warm and sunny day but as I write this the noise of thunder cancels out the radio in the background and the rain is bouncing off the cars outside my window.

Fortunately, it was very pleasant this morning when there was another 'Village' clean up session. With a good turn out this one got serious as it not only included removing rubbish but getting rid of any graffiti, repainting BT junction boxes, repainting road signs which had become almost unreadable over the years plus weeding all the plant areas. This is all brought on by our Queen Bee who has applied for the place to be included in the 'London in Bloom' listing and whose inspection is due in just over a fortnight's time.

Oddly, as an atheist, my job was to clean up the Church yard and the surrounding area. Because it's situated in a major walk through area a lot of things just get tossed away. Luckily, with such a lovely day it was very peaceful to be amongst the dead, some going back some hundreds of years so that it's no longer possible to read the massive tomb's ornaments.

It's quite a change where the current plot is a small separate garden where the ashes are scattered and some flowers flourish.

As I write, Murray is on court but so far it seems the roof hasn't been needed so perhaps I've kept the rain at my end.

Hasn't rained here all day, and is still very warm! Great match Andy Murray played! I am wondering if I will see him playing on Tuesday? I will be on Centre Court and under cover (which translated means right up in the gods!)
