Good morning all ...........I read with interest the part about parents and teeth, my own father only had tooth ache once and so promptly told the dentist to remove them all so he wouldn't suffer again, as a kid I would watch him 'chew' an hazelnut for hours, rolling it around his mouth and finally spitting it out as whole as it was when he first put it in, my mother would keep her teeth clean by rubbing them with her finger having placed her finger first up the chimney to make it sooty, needless to say she lost most of her teeth, one each time she gave birth (6 times) and finally in her sixties her pearls started to crumble and take on the appearance of a row of condemned houses, she never visited a dentist, preferring to extract her teeth her self! as for myself the only teeth I have lost were for combat reasons having been torn out by an Army dentist, my teeth became sensitive many moons ago and my civilian dentist recommended I use 'Synsodene@' I still visit the same dentist twice a year (38yrs) and apart from cleaning a little plaque each visit, have had no problems, this costs me just £25 per visit. I wish I could say my heart was in the same condition, or my back that gives me so much grief these days but that is the price of growing old I suppose! or was it miss pent youth? You all take care ........... Old (but not yet out) Sage ![]() |
