Re: No begging letters please

Removes the spy glass from Tony's bad eye & turns it the correct way round .
Observes that we have in fact got a quorum so we can continue on our merry way .
It would be nice however to have a leader at the helm to guide us through life's troubled water We dont want to have to open the sealed envelope.
nor push that Red Button ..

I reckon Alans duties as Scribe recording our attendance has lowered our supplies of ink.
We will have to cast a line to try and catch a Cephalopod preferable a squid as that produces the Blue black Ink that I much prefer to plain old black .I dont know how many we need to catch to fill that empty bottle of Quink ?? but the Plus point of catching a squid is that we can eat the surplus as calamari for our tea wink

Well said all......

If nothing else I provoked a reaction devilish biggrin

I was rather hoping that our lurking illustrious Cap'n might be stirred into action, seems I hoped in vain however sad

Re: No begging letters please

Greetings all

I've never been tempted to have an expensive watch which is just as well as our local expert now charges £100 for a full clean whereas I've paid £9 to have a new battery fitted in my Hong Kong slim. But then, I don't like jewellery and don't even wear a wedding band.

Re: No begging letters please

I like watches my first watch an Ingersol, a normal clockwork wrist watch plain white face But Luminous the figures and hands coated with green paint biggrin I saved my Birthday and Christmas monies to buy it .
When I wore it on hi days and Holidays I had my sleeves pulled up just enough so folks knew and admired the fact I had such a wonderful watch, what a suave guy that is they would exclaim as I passed by .

In later life I obtained a pocket watch ex military it had the arrow engraved on the back with some letters that I cannot now remember
I used it in preference to a wrist watch as I used to catch the straps break them and then lose the works through the gratings 50ft above a concrete floor, end of story

Anyway This was Swiss made and had a jeweled movement black face with again with thickly painted numerals and hands giving a green luminous glow in the dark .

The glass got broken and I kept in a pocket watch container with a perspex window It was quite radio active and used to set off the monitors when I went into the controlled areas at work

it was eventually disposed of.............

Re: No begging letters please

Yup, the second-best fighter of the Battle of Britain! THe Hurricane won that battle shooting down more enemy than all other aircraft put together (60%)! Shsame it does not get the credit which was pinched by the more glamorous Spit! wink

Moaning all...

Great pic Den, as Scribe sez, "never got the recognition that the Spitfire got" sadly the Hurrican is often mistaken for the Spitfire.
Both planes are wonders of engineering a credit to their designer and to the courageous Spirit of the Pilots that flew them, they look as if nature herself had designed them for the sky! Magnificent!! applause

Have a great day all.......... good luck

Re: No begging letters please

When I went for stage one flying assessment I'd never even drive a car and so was hardly surprised when they put me down for navigator training. This couldn't have worked out better as I went from the Isle of Man to Canada and then to Germany.
So my time away from a real job in an Insurance company was more like an expensive holiday.
