biggrin Re: At the end of type A

Cannot wait until TCEP is back up and running. Until then, I have plenty of time to get my gold for DDDT.

After a few new installs/tweaks on my machines, I am recording up to 200 hours per day and just over 20k points :)

So it is. Sekerob makes statistics.

Re: Clean Energy Project Phase 1 temporarily out of type A work units

Can you post your current points and time stats for CEP. Wanna run some stats of "managed, 1 at the time" versus "just let it rip on all cores".
biggrin

Sekerob, just a small update of my previous post: I didn't check that I had some WU with "pending validation" status, so after their validation my stats has changed a little:
39,570 points,
30 WU,
work time 0:016:15:55:24

Re: Clean Energy Project Phase 1 temporarily out of type A work units

Hey Sek as you are obsessed with statistics here's an idea for a project that should keep you amused for a week or two. Analyse crunching performance of various Boinc Versions, OSes, and processors to determine which combination provides the best crunching performance on any given project.

For example I'd imagine Vista uses more resources just running itself than say windows 95 so if the same Boinc version was installed on the same rig the 95 version would crunch more WU's over the same time period? But how much more? Then what about the difference between 32 and 64 bit, or AMD and Intel, or a 5.x series Boinc Client and a 6.x one? And is there any synergey when various parts are combined making hte whole better than the parts?

Then do some projects perform better with certain combinations than others?

A quality statistical comparison of all the variables might help serious crunchers maximise their output by developing the "perfect" crunching machine. Any extra performance gained by crunchers as a result would be of real benefit to WCG through more WU's being crunched.

To start you off, all the CEP units I've crunched were on a stock intel Q6600 rig with 3Gb of Ram running the 64 bit vesion of Kbuntu 8.04 and 64 bit boinc version 5.10.45.
