I copied this off of my "Results Status" page. Unfortunately, it looks like we're out of work units again. :-( Same here. I haven't had any for about 5 hours as well.  It looks like I am still getting CEP. I have received about 50 WU with a date of 4/15. I also do not think this is the end of A units since I think many of them are A units. - Mitch    |

On a quad set for HCC, HFCC and CEP I have seen one type B CEP over 2 or 3 weeks, and I was not expecting any new one right now.
----------------------------------------And just when I hoped to get at least one beta for the new project I have got two type A CEP instead! Bad luck! Even more since there will be two cores busy on them for about 9 hours each instead of trying again for betas.  That's life... Jean. Edit: Well... it was probably to give me a chance to notice that these type A CEP WUs are no longer behaving as I have described in a thread of the Start Here FAQ. I will have to see if I can update it with current numbers of if I should simply remove it. At first sight the good news is that there seems to be more frequent checkpoints than before, about every 1.6 % instead of every 2.5 %. Will see. Edit2: Checkpoints occur at multiples of 1.6 %. JmB: Over the last week, I've crunched about 15 CEP WUs, 10 Type B and 5 A. Most were on a machine set to receive CEP only. No new work for about 36 hrs now. Their % Progress seemed to advance linearly, though I made no actual measurements.
----------------------------------------The Type Bs all seemed to run OK - 1 still PV. The Type As seemed to have the same mix of bad apples as before. 1 x Error copying wcgrestart.rst (Inconclusive), 1 where I got Valid but another quorum member got error 0x1d. Maybe the last little batch of Type As was the techs clearing out their last stock of the current model, and the project is now paused waiting for the new improved bug-fixed version. The 0x1d error you mentioned could be this work unit: <core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> The system cannot write to the specified device. (0x1d) - exit code 29 (0x1d) </message> <stderr_txt> Calling initGraphics() INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. Calling initGraphics() Encountered error. Exiting. </stderr_txt> ]]> This error may have resulted when the computer shut down as part of the recent MS-Windows update process. I honestly do not know how this error occurred, however another quorum member has the WU in PV status. |

Had lots of WU lately, but I have turned off CEP for a couple of weeks. I haven't had an erro for over 2 weeks now.

It is unlikely that we have the same WU, or that your computer's shutdown caused the error. FWIW, my WU where the other cruncher got the Error 0x1d was E000365_023A_00281d007. *Are* or *WERE*? Does not matter what my crunchers do, every single result goes valid for CEP, except when frickin Vista hangs like it did right after the update this week, completely and utterly.

Hi Rickjb, Thank you for your post and clarification. I just found it odd that all five (5) DDDT WU's the computers were crunching at the time still went valid after the Vista update and subsequent shutdown coupled with another quorum member CEG WU going valid. Also with the relatively small number of CEG WU's presently being distributed, I thought it was a remote possibility. Thanks again! Ray |
