Is this where we sign up to play 'Flame the Flamers'?! ![]() Sure is Ripcat...sign up here for yer asbestos underwear. I find the "tribe" refreshing ... mind you as I said earlier ... the tribe is "Technically sound, but socially impossible." As for MOT ....shrugs... what can I say... its a pity some threads were deleted. I found the tenor of some community admins to be disconcerting. That is why I asked the Admins who deleted the threads. The one that MOT they posted in the Canada thread made me chuckle about bumping against you know who. Again thaat post vanished. I can't tar the whole MOT team with the same brush... but several remind me of another fitness reports I read........ "When he opens her mouth, it seems that this is only to change whichever foot was previously in there." and "He sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them." Making noises about disbanding the tribe over posts..... they need to get a life. This is the grid.... and most of us run it as a spare precess. I find no need to preach and annoy people that the grid is the only thing in life that matters. Some people do need to get a life. Hats off to /. a team that contributes without excess rhetoric or annoying pleading. The same for IBM. Canada does its share without the rhetoric or back slapping in our usual way. The "tribe" does its share without pomposity or threats. MOT does its bit but with a 3 ring circus effect. Now lets all get back to the matter at hand and crunch the numbers and enough rhetoric and threats from ALL parties. Rudi the Red <shaking his head and laughing> |

As for MOT ....shrugs... what can I say... its a pity some threads were deleted. I found the tenor of some community admins to be disconcerting. That is why I asked the Admins who deleted the threads. You shouldn't be the only voice outside of TW to publically state views that others of us share with you, Rudi. While my "take" of the whole thing may be somewhat different than yours, it seems to be essentially the same. The deletion of those threads REALLY bothered me as well. The justification that the MOT thread was "hijacked" by TW as was stated by the WCG is not a valid reason to me. Frankly, ANY explanation for deleting those threads seems really weak. Enforcing necessary "forum decorum" is one thing. Censorship is another. There is one thing that you may have been a little harsh about, Rudi. When you said, "MOT does its bit but with a 3 ring circus effect." While this is quite painfully obvious to all of us (and was the most difficult thing for me to overcome in deciding to join MOT), it was a member of TW that said it best. Something like, 'MOT is actually doing a pretty good job given that they are a disbanded group of people, with no central organizing theme, and a name like MyOnline Team to overcome'. To compete you sometimes have to resort to desperate (and I mean truly desperate) measures. But just wait until we tap into the "Sesame Street" & "Mr. Rogers" crowd. We'll see whose laughing then! ![]() |
