I plan to build a platform specifically designed to run full time for the WCG which will be networked with my desktop PC.
----------------------------------------So it will be a kind of side unit just for processing running 24/24 and 7/7. The idea is to have a mainboard (Intel chipset) with the two most powerful Quadcore Xeon cpus in 64bit at 3.2GHz. Memory is DDR2 at the max FSB speed. The OS will be Vista in 64 bit. In this way I will have in total 16 threads computing 16 units in parallel. Would Boinc work on such a system. Your comments are welcome. ![]() |

Hello Hypernova,
Sure. Just be sure that your preferences allow 16 threads. I think that the default value does this, so you should not have to change anything. Lawrence |
