Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 32 smilesmile

1) We need more members from the Southern Hemisphere so when we have to back off because of the heat, they can ramp up and vice versa. Anyone have any good recruiting ideas (for either Hemisphere)?

2) I backed off 4 cores when it became obvious that our visitors (Thank them very much! applause ) were going to give us the boost that got us over the hump. I gave a dual core to a very needy family and I shut down my laptop because of its too-stressed fans sad .

3) thinking The goal and our progress could be displayed as a line chart which would be helpful.

Here here! I agree. The line chart is an awesome idea. Or we could do one of those thermometer type graphs,

If I'm going to seriously help, I'm going to have to stop my dalliances with QMC (my current 2nd favourite project, after PS3Grid, obviously). Maybe instead of being WCG specific, our goal could be in terms of BOINC credits, instead of just WCG points? That way, those of us who do graphics crunching will be able to SERIOUSLY boost our points for the coming year.

GPUGrid doesn't affect your CPU crunching.

Jonathan has a good point though. While MOT is predominantly at WCG, it is also more than that. Our goals should reflect all of MOT too. Let me see what I can think of.

Well, technically it takes .03% cpu on one core, but yeah. What I mean though is that this team is so much more than just WCG. More than HALF my daily points come from GPUGRID. If we brought our other projects into a points race, jeez, we could hit a ludicrously impressive goal.

Indeed.

Harness BOINC points too. smile

If you don't mind the comments of a part-time member:

Points will be converted and gone soon ... think credits. For example, almost half of Jonathan's production is missing as well as Blizzie's GPU crunchin'.

15 million would be a huge leap for next year ... 13 mill would be more reasonable.

Crunch on MOT. cowboy
