Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold? ... Sapphire!

i feel so left behind in my little bronze world. Hopefully I can catch up to you world class crunchers.

Oh, I've no doubt that you'll get a few more of the higher badges under your belt - all it takes, is time...

What's more, I saw that you've got a Bronze AC@H badge - that, in itself, is quite an achievement, due to not many of them being around wink

BTW, another thing to consider, is the skew of posters within these pages - i.e., I'd estimate that the vast majority of active members on this forum, are in the top 10% of all the crunchers within WCG. So, you'll no doubt see more people with higher level badges, than those who don't.

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

I’m wondering why I get only an occasionally CEP task? I’m signed up for all active projects, and figure whatever the priorities at WCG are is fine with me, but for some reason I seldom have CEP tasks. Only thing rarer is Beta, which I got for a while and then nothing recently. I've seen lots of discussion about the high standards for Beta, so I expect most of those go to the folks with an array of fast processors. smile

The project is given lower weight than the others, plus there just aren't that many WUs left to go around:

Thanks, I continued reading other threads and understand that some folks are hungry for this badge - or higher colors - and their focus is apparently drawing most of the limited WU available. I think I'll simply let the badges come or not, I'd rather not get into that mindset. wink

I’m signed up for all active projects..., smile

In that case you might change your selection to CEP only and check the box "If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project."

With this profile you will get CEP WUs whenever they are available, and otherwise you will receive work for other projects. Some members are reluctant to do that because there are some projects that they don't wish to receive (for technical or other reasons) and this profile gives no control on the "other work". But since you are currently "all projects" that should not be a problem for you.

Regarding beta WUs they are not reserved to high range machines or crunchers. Otherwise the beta test would not be complete.
The only condition is that your machine can return beta WUs within their shorter deadline.
The real reason why many members don't see any (or very few) is that there are usually a few thousands of them, or even only a few hundreds sometimes.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

With today's update, I've managed to receive the Emerald badge! Now up for my first Sapphire. If everything goes as planned, I should be able to reach it by the end of this month. biggrin

Edit: Hm... strange... In the statistic's page, I can clearly see the emerald badge. In the forum, it doesn't show up. Is there a delay in updating the badges in the forum section?

Edit2: Now the badge has been added.
