Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

Mine went silver today. When does the end come?

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

Oh. That shouldn't be a problem then. I thought I'd read somewhere that July/August was suggested. I reckon 2 more weeks with the quotas set like they are should be good for my first gold badge.

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

August/September is the current outlook for the start of phase 2, and phase 1 will still run a little after the launch of phase 2.
The launch date being only an expectation and not a commitment, and the "little after" being as precise as it looks, hence the "maybe" in my post. biggrin

Just a warning for late badge hunters... Jean.

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

<Off topic really>

Does the "badge thing" cause problems for projects? What I envisage is a pile of people jump on new things until they have gotten their gold badge, then switch to some other task for the same reason. Thus a project team is overwhelmed with results for a period, gears up for that, then sits waiting with nothing coming in.

I have to admit myself to odd allegiency. I joined WCG because it was a team thing, but went quickly out of favour, (low credit I recall). I rejoined a month or so back because of the problems at CPDN and have since fiddled a little quota here and there to get my "worthless" badge.

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

Not a problem. There's a very large group on 'All Projects' that acts as the natural balancer. Ideally all research projects at WCG get equal resource over a period of time, but one or the other projects has stability issues, or version bugs. Also there's rush experiments or priority data to be completed, , so it yo yo's which science get's more or less this week or the next.

Here's a plot by Tflops contributed, smoothed, and clearly with the current version, CEP is more abundantly released, gaining share, not since the rumours of phase 1 ending soon.... it isn't.

<Off topic really>Thus a project team .... then sits waiting with nothing coming in.

When I look at daily numbers per project every day I have no such worry. I more often wonder how they can digest all the results that WCG crunchers are returning. Never forget that we have the simplest role in this wonderful research play.

Thank you for your interest, and for your contribution too, obviously. Jean.

Re: CEP Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver and Gold?

Hooray! I finally got gold in everything except beta and finished projects! Methinks beta will take a long time to even hit bronze for me, but who knows. Turning all projects plus beta back on for now.

Good job, congratulations!

Missing a specific goal? You might target 180 days of runtime for all those projects, starting with the most likely to finish earlier than the others, i.e. DDDT and CEP.

Just a suggestion... Jean. wink
