Okay, here's one for the geeks - how do I find out if a machine has a gpu that is one of the ones PS3GRID runs on? here Those in red do not work and the grey ones work but cannot complete a wu in their 4-day time limit. The green ones are OK. EDIT: If you are thinking about buying a new card, make sure your power supply is large enough. Basicly the 88xx need 400W+ and the 98xx need 500W+ Yea, saw that already. I'm talking about looking on the machine itself to see what kind of gpu I have. On vista open the control panel, double click System, on the left click on Device Manager and the expand the line Display Adapter. It should be something like nVidia Gforce 8800 GT. Okay, I was basically doing the right thing but you wonder when you're not familiar with what you're looking for. As expected, the two laptops don't have the nVidia adapter but neither does the desktop. Oh well. |

Looks pretty cool with that soft blue light. Cheers Thanks, Joe. Looks more like a floodlight at night, though, when I turn off the bedroom lights for sleep -- LOL. Way cool Dave! Looks softer in the pic than mine was before I disabled it. Uses power too.  Still think you should add a crunchin' vid card.  That was my problem ... no sticker. You will like it ... runs cooler than my HP's even with the card at max.Crunch on Bro!!   |

Once I found it and got the magnifier out so I could read it, all went well. Mine is running cooler as well. I may leave the light on on the fan. The neon at the bottom is switchable off on the back and that is the brighter of the two. I don't see a video card in my future, but, never know what I might be thinkin' out a year. Oh, yeah. Two WU's validated from it, but my other two weren't working from the same game plan and turned in WU's just after midnight for tomorrow. Stats will be flat for me. Yes, that's where the sticker was to be ... mine ... none ... Made on a Monday. Yes was easy to turn off big light. You have to snip a wire to turn off the other one as it also runs the side fan. I've had max load on mine with 3 cores and the card and it still runs on the cool side. You will like it. Some one has to catch up with Lucie.
