Hello and thanks for the welcome back. All is good here if you don't mind the heat for a few days then big downpours that last jst for a few minutes then some more heat. You get the idea. Looks like some nice comfortable weather coming our way in the next couple of days. Be glad to see that. ----------------------- Got a question for anyone who can answer. Bought my son a new laptop with windows vista on it and downloaded Boinc on it. Here's the problem, everytime he closes the cover everything stop running including Boinc. Is there a way to make the hard drive run even if the cover is shut? I've tried a couple of different settings in the power section, but maybe I'm not changing it to the right setting. It has dedicated power to it at all times. Never on Battery mode. What do I need to change to make it run always? Welcome back largethunder! |

I used a little trick on this very old thinkpad called cutting off the little knob that would depress into a cavity and signify that the top was closed. But that was back in the windows 95 days when the machine not staying on was the least of your problems. Worked like a charm.
Ah Windows 95. Still 35% better than Windows ME. |

Windows Mistake Edition? I hated fixing a computer in school that had that... It kept giving errors and killing itself. |
