Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 28 smilesmile

Kids are amazing. Daughter had her first day of kindergarden today. Did just fine of course, especially when she saw the crayons and picture out on her desk. I almost think we didn't exist anymore at that point. biggrin She's used to school settings with her day care and pre-K class but this was a new school with all new kids she didn't know. Either I did okay prepping her for that or it wasn't a problem to begin with. Thing is you never know. There apparently was the "requisite" crying kid. See, things may change but not really. We took her and picked her up today and to talk to her, she'd do just fine riding the bus tomorrow except for one thing - her Mom! Guess who's not ready to ride the bus! laughing laughing Same page, different generation. Well, we're all undeniably tired and calling it a night. Will post stats in the morning, unless age kicks in again and I wake up in the middle of the night and.....sigh.....

Sounds like you had a really good day too, Keith biggrin ... sleep well.

Forecast for 97F/36C tomorrow. sad I may have to "snooze' them in the afternoon. All-in-all, July was milder than I expected. When we get past August ... it's crunchin' weather again. biggrin

Hey Keith, any chance you could hook a brother up with a discount on one of those Lenovo laptops? My parents need a new computer and I think a dual core for less than $500 would be right up their alley.

Well, the Happy Skies have gone and left us. This evening, we have had a number of T-storms roll through, one of which triggered a Tornado Warning. I did another time lapse movie of the first storm coming in and set it to "To Go Beyond" by Enya. If you want to see it, it is on YouTube as The Gathering Storm

Hello and thanks for the welcome back.
All is good here if you don't mind the heat for a few days then big downpours that last jst for a few minutes then some more heat. You get the idea. Looks like some nice comfortable weather coming our way in the next couple of days. Be glad to see that.

Got a question for anyone who can answer. Bought my son a new laptop with windows vista on it and downloaded Boinc on it. Here's the problem, everytime he closes the cover everything stop running including Boinc. Is there a way to make the hard drive run even if the cover is shut? I've tried a couple of different settings in the power section, but maybe I'm not changing it to the right setting. It has dedicated power to it at all times. Never on Battery mode.
What do I need to change to make it run always?

In Power Options in Control Panel, there is different actions to do with the laptop lid being closed (usually set to standby mode), or if the power button is pressed.

The 3 choices are sleep, hibernate, do nothing.

Change it to do nothing.

You can then ensure that High Performance is set.

Please be aware that this is from memory and I do not have Vista in front of me so it may be slightly wrong wink
