Dr. Mike.. ![]() Your Athlon 64X2 2.6GHz will run any active WCG project well. As Keith said, it is a matter of personal preference. If you go to an individual WCG project's thread, you can find a WCG and/or project scientist post announcing the project. This usually contains a link to the project website which has the detail of what they are trying to accomplish and current status. For projects other than WCG, a good place to start is BOINCStats. This shows active projects and contains links to the project's website. As you can see in my sig, MOT participates in many projects and has a team record there. Good luck and thanks for crunching with us. ![]() ![]() |

Consider hooking a wireless router to your cable modem - about $40-60. You could connect your laptops that way and still be able to keep them mobile, in the area anyway.
---------------------------------------- Should be able to connect them directly thru the modem too but then they're teathered.Edit: Nothing that you probably didn't already know though... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at Jul 15, 2008 2:32:25 AM] |

What do you guys recommend for projects to run..? Right now I just have African Climate and Rice selected.. (no WU's received yet from Climate). Should I select all of them? Mike.. Mike -- I have taken the easy way out like many others and have chosen to run all projects. I've had two cancers myself and probably should dedicate myself to any cancer projects, but I also live in the world and realize other things are important (like feeding mankind), so I run 'em all. |

01: marysduby - 41,012 points 02: Dataman - 28,801 points Darn Gerald, you must have cooler weather than I have. ![]() I hope you are feeling better now. You know? MOT is holding up well during the dog days of summer in the northern hemisphere. Pains me to see most of my farm sleeping. Better days to come in cooler weather. ![]() edited for inappropriate language...cih ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 15, 2008 1:04:15 PM] |

Three things:
1. A big MOT welcome to our new member NiceMedTexMD! 2. In response to your query regarding which projects we all run, I run AIDS and cancer because I have found them extremely stable, always well-provided with work, and well-maintained by the researchers. All this might be true of the other projects as well, but I personally run just those two. I've also had a lot of trouble with Rice rather early on. 3. Is anyone curious what the official rules are for inappropriate language? I wonder what would happen if I went on a rampage dropping the f-bomb all over the place, swearing like a Norwegian Pirate. |

I drop one from time-to-time to give CIH something to do. It gets lonely on graveyard.

I wonder what would happen if I went on a rampage dropping the f-bomb all over the place, swearing like a Norwegian Pirate. Jonathan -- Click on the Rules tab above to see the forum rules, which, including an admonition to keep them "kid-friendly" it is stated, "Forum posts may not be obscene, hate related, sexually explicit, express intolerance of others by denigrating others for their race, nationality, gender, beliefs, religion, preferences, or disabilities or use any name that is a trademark or trade name of, or is owned by someone other than you. Forum posts may not point to a website which features sexual content, gambling, or intolerance of others. In addition, Members may not represent themselves as other Members or as employees of World Community Grid."
